Barasingha

Native of India, a large animal that in summer and velvet is an orange shade, but changes in the winter and rut to a brown. The name means 12 points, but not all bulls reach the 12.

 

While numbers are severely low in their native county, they are thriving in the US. Since they are on the endangered species list, a permit from the US Fish and Wildlife is necessary to "take" one.
